Session Timeout
Set the inactivity timeout duration for automatic session logout in HeartLab.
Session Timeout
This guide explains how to change the session inactivity timeout setting in HeartLab. This setting determines how long a user can remain inactive before being automatically logged out of the system.
Applies to
- Administrators
Change inactivity timeout
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced > General.
- Scroll to Session Inactivity Timeout.
- Select the required timeout duration from the dropdown menu.
Only users with Other Admin Tasks permissions can view or modify these settings.
Security guidance
- Longer timeout durations improve convenience but increase the risk of unattended sessions remaining active.
- Shorter timeout durations improve security by reducing the opportunity for unauthorized access, but may require users to sign in more frequently.
- Choose a timeout value that aligns with your local security policy and device-sharing practices.
- Inform users of any timeout changes and encourage them to manually sign out when using shared or public computers.
