Performance Issues
Performance Issues
If your HeartLab environment is loading slowly, freezing, or becoming unresponsive, there are several common causes that can be investigated.
Check Connection Speed and Network Issues
HeartLab includes a built-in Network Speed Test to help identify connectivity or bandwidth issues.
The speed test results provide useful diagnostic information for HeartLab Support.
To run the speed test:
- Navigate to Settings from your profile menu.
- Select Speed Test.
- Click Run Speed Test.
- Wait for the test to complete (approximately 40 seconds).
- Do not refresh or leave the page while the test is running.
Once complete:
- Record the observed download and upload speeds.
- Review whether download speeds fall below the recommended threshold.
If your speed is below this threshold:
- Contact your local IT team and/or internet service provider (ISP)
- Check for outages or network congestion
If speeds are above this threshold and performance issues continue:
- Contact HeartLab Support for further investigation
Check File Sizes
HeartLab supports study files up to 1 GB in size.
Files larger than this limit may:
- Fail processing
- Cause repeated resend attempts
- Create upload queue backlogs
- Affect overall platform performance
Recommended actions:
- Identify files larger than 1 GB
- Confirm whether they are legitimate studies
- Remove or correct invalid or erroneous exports where possible
Minimum System Requirements
Ensure the affected workstation meets the recommended HeartLab system requirements.
Large studies (particularly CT studies) may:
- Freeze
- Load slowly
- Cause browser instability
- Crash on underpowered systems

Contact Support
If the issue persists after completing the above checks, contact HeartLab Support and include:
- Speed test results
- Approximate time of the issue
- Affected study links
- Browser and operating system details
- Screenshots or browser logs where available
