Measurements
Biplane EF
Generate a biplane EF from paired A4C and A2C EF measurements.
Biplane Ejection Fraction Measurements
HeartLab allows users to generate Biplane Ejection Fraction (EF) measurements using paired EF measurements captured from both the apical four-chamber (A4C) and apical two-chamber (A2C) views.
The Biplane EF value is automatically derived once both EF measurements have been completed and saved.
Applies to
- All users can create measurements, however users with the Viewer only role cannot save measurements.
Measurements can only be saved if the study does not already have an approved final report.
Steps
Step 1: Create the A4C and A2C EF Measurements
- Create and save an Ejection Fraction measurement in the A4C view.
- Repeat the process in the A2C view.
See Ejection Fraction for instructions on creating EF measurements.
Step 2: Review the Biplane EF Measurement
Once both EF measurements have been saved, HeartLab automatically generates the associated Biplane EF measurement.
The Biplane EF option becomes available within the Select Measurement window.
Step 3: Save the Biplane EF Measurement
- Select the Biplane EF measurement label.
- Click Save.
The Biplane EF measurement is saved alongside the associated EF measurements.
For best results, ensure the A2C and A4C contours are traced using comparable cardiac phases and clearly defined endocardial borders.
