View-Only Access

View-Only Access

View-only access allows users to safely review studies without modifying the original clinical data.

This mode is commonly used for:

• External collaboration
• Second-opinion review
• Educational review
• Shared study access workflows

Users can fully navigate and review the study while all editing and saving functionality remains restricted.

Applies to

• Users with Viewer only study access

Access a Shared Study

To open a shared study in view-only mode:

1. Open the shared study email or direct link.
2. Copy the provided passcode.
3. Select View Study.
4. Enter the passcode.

The study opens in the Study Viewer with view-only restrictions applied.

Navigate and Review the Study

While in view-only mode, users can still:

• Navigate clips and Cine layouts
• Review reports and measurements
• Adjust playback and viewing controls
• Review studies side-by-side

Viewer Navigation

Users can:

• Change layouts using keyboard shortcuts or the layout selector
• Navigate clips using arrow keys or navigation controls
• Resize the Clip List panel

Understanding the Measurement Pane

The Measurement Pane displays:

• Measurements imported from ultrasound systems
• Measurements created within HeartLab

Measurements created within HeartLab are identified with a green icon.

To collapse or expand the Measurement Pane:

• Select the blue arrow, or
• Press M

Temporary Measurements

Users can create temporary measurements while reviewing studies in view-only mode.

These measurements:

• Are not saved
• Do not modify the original study
• Exist only during the active review session

Download Studies and Images

Depending on organisational permissions, users may be able to download:

• DICOM studies
• Individual DICOM clips
• PNG images

Download an Entire Study

1. Select More Actions from the Study Viewer.
2. Select Download DICOMs.

Download Individual Images or Clips

1. Right-click the target clip in the Clip List.
2. Select:
   • Download DICOM, or
   • Download PNG

Restrictions in View-Only Mode

Users with view-only access cannot:

• Save measurements
• Edit patient or study information
• Edit reports
• Finalise reports
• Amend reports
• Delete clips or studies
• Upload new content
